An intimate evening of storytelling through song
Featuring Jenny Mitchell (NZ) + Nigel Wearne (VIC)
6pm - $10 entry*
Jenny Mitchell is New Zealand's brightest rising star, blending country, folk and Americana into her own captivating style. Influenced by Gillian Welch, The Lumineers and Miranda Lambert, Jenny’s love for storytelling is at the core of her craft. With a New Zealand Gold Guitar under her hat in 2017, Jenny also placed 3rd on New Zealand's Got Talent years earlier at the tender age of 14. After her success on the show, she went on to release 'The Old Oak' that debuted at #1 on the NZ Country iTunes Charts and #3 on the Official NZ Music Charts. A seasoned performer, who's already played to audiences in Sweden, Ireland, Australia and her homeland of New Zealand. "An artist who knows exactly who she is and feels no need to give way." - Southland Times NZ.

Nigel Wearne is a folk/country singer-songwriter, luthier, poet and gleaner. Equipped with personally handcrafted instruments, his music melds finger-style guitar, clawhammer banjo, folk and honest storytelling. Gleaning diverse influence from Kelly Joe Phelps, Townes Van Zandt and Sun Kil Moon, he tells stories of forgotten rebels, wandering poets and his love of eggs. Nigel’s current album ‘Drawing Circles’ is a solo record that’s raw, compelling and reflective. A storyteller at heart, he paints lyrical pictures with “the narrative-fuelled prose of Paul Kelly” – Beat Magazine. “One of Australia’s emerging songwriters” – Tone Deaf. “Warmth flecked with grit… beauty awaits” 4 Stars – Rolling Stone. www.nigelwearne.com
