It was such a treat to see the originals of these beautiful illustrations by Margaret Zaal AT NEA yesterday, and is a joy to share them. with others.
Margaret is currently conducting two courses in Botanical Art - Drawing and Watercolor Painting on Wednesdays & Sundays from 9 to 12 am at NEA . $45 per class. Spaces are available if you would like to join during the series. For more information, contact Margaret on 0438295060.
Sunday series - April 23, 30; May 7, 14, 21 and 28
Wednesday series - April 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31s.
The ambience and discrete working spaces in the events room gallery inspired Marg Zaal to develop the drawing workshop format pictured during the second in a series of three workshops on January 13th. Marg's vision - of three small group workshops by artists with different drawing specialities, offered on three different occasions to allow participants to chose more than one - worked really well..
Caught... in action...
Cornelia, caught here working on a portrait, is currently focusing on portrait painting and recently received two commissions.
Caught... in deep conversation
With artisans sharing rosters there are valued opportunities to talk about shared interests.
The foyer gallery is often a place for catching up and sharing ideas. Last week Margaret was caught sharing her samples of Daniel Smith water colours with Cornelia and Grace, while Shaun and Paul caught exploring the finer details of walking sticks drawing upon those crafted by Garth Mitchell.
