NEA members are encouraged to draw upon the special places and spaces in our community they love (or perhaps want others to think about) and enter this inhouse exhibition to be held during the Benalla's 'Our Back Yard' themed Festival in November. There will be a People's Choice award of $250 - this will be awarded on Friday November 16 at a party to celebrate the work of all the members who contribute to North East Artisans in so many different ways. (If you would like to enter and have been thinking of becoming a member, membership forms are available at NEA or in the footer on our webpage.)
The 5th annual Tatong Art Show is running this year, again part of the Benalla Festival in November. The Tatong Memorial Hall Committee has taken over coordinating the event this year.

The official opening of the Art Show and announcement of winning works will be held on Friday 2 November at the Tatong Memorial Hall from 7 - 9.30pm. The exhibition will be open from 10am - 4pm on the 3 - 4 and 9 - 11th of October.

'Our Backyard…a celebration of special places and spaces'
The Benalla Festival theme for 2018, 'Our Backyard...a celebration of special places and spaces' has inspired conversations in the Red Road Cafe about its potential as a theme for an exhibition at NEA during the Festival. We have downloaded an Expression of Interest form to run an event included in the Festival Program and are keen to receive feedback, ideas and input first.
'The Benalla Festival is celebrated every November on the foreshore of Lake Benalla and around the Rural City. "The Festival is a celebration of the local lifestyle. All events are low or no cost. The program of fun and creativity aims to engage the community and visitors with street entertainment, music, theatre, art, dance, exhibitions, fireworks and more. Every event is a chance to celebrate our community spirit, create, consume and come together for two weekends of fun activities."

This year's theme for the festival is 'Good Vibrations,' a celebration of music and dance, and The Leopards shall deliver just that, with the added bonus of shiny costumes, sparkly hair, sequinned shoes and the hottest dance moves you'll find this side of the Moon.
Grandma and toddler friendly - and everyone else in between!
Be there or be beige.
Tickets $10 to feed the leopards.
Carla from Broken River Writers and Michaela from Gallery Gigs have put together a festive creative program for the Benalla Festival featuring the Sugar Fed Leopards.
"Come and learn how to craft words into songs with the absolutely brilliant Sugar Fed Leopards on Friday, 10th November, 4-6pm. Don't forget $5 for supper.
And then, stick around for their Gallery Gig, 7-10 pm, $10 tix, which is an incredibly low price for an amazing musical experience"
