'From Fibre to Felt' is one of two free 'Door of Hope' courses offered by NEA in February to creative people with artistic interests and dreams who are keen to develop a work for exhibition and possible sale, Taught by NEA artisan Annie Longmuir, 'From Fibre to Felt' is being held on Wednesdays from 10.30 am to 12.3o pm starting February 15th for six weeks. 'From Fibre to Felt' offers the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of wet felting; to change fibre to felt and to make an individual piece of 'felt art'. Felt can be made to create jewelry, bags, framed art, wall hangings, 3D objects such as decorative bowls or wearable art such as scarves . Participants in the 'From Fibre to Felt' course will exhibit an individual piece of 'felt art' at North East Artisans during the Wall to Wall Street Art Festival in April. Funded by the Tomorrow Today Foundation, the 'From Fibre to Felt' course is free-of-charge (including materials) to individuals 18 years and over residing in the Greater Benalla Rural City. Learn the basic techniques of wet felting: changing fibre to felt. Express your creativity and make an individual piece of "felt art".
