NEA member and oft-times finance whiz Nicole Murphy recently graduated from the Alpine Valley Community Leadership Program. Nicole was nominated for a Hugh Williamson Scholarship by NEA. Valued at $4,330, the Hugh Williamson scholarship supports someone from the region who works or volunteers in the Arts.
Nicole joined twenty other participants meeting fortnightly at different locations across the North East, advancing her knowledge of the region and developing personal leadership skills while networking with a range of regional and state leaders.
Nicole's goals following graduation include 'looking forward to continuing to put myself outside my comfort zone and utilise my newly developed networking skills to help secure financial security for the North East Artisans and seek out grants for community groups that I am involved with"..(AVCLP 2017 Year Book p 19)
Speaking of Community Leadership Programs, NEA has been visited by groups from the Shepparton based Fairley Leadership Program as part of their program of visits within their region. NEA President Tim Schloss has spoken most enthusiastically about his meetings with participants during these visits.
